Went to the Unser Racing Museum yesterday to see the cars on their brief lunch stop. They get 1 hour and then have to be back on the road. An interesting bunch of cars to say the least. It was hot and crowded. Hard to get decent pictures because of all the spectators. I only saw the first 80 or so of the 120 that left Santa Fe earlier in the day. Just because they leave in 1 minute intervals does not mean they arrive like that.

No Interstate, from what was said. All back roads. Many dirt/gravel. It was cool how much thought goes into the planning of the routes they take. Each course will have 2 legs that reverse you so the traffic coming the other way wonders if they took a wrong turn (both directions). I looked at the pacenotes in a couple of cars and I left scratching my head.
